Love Thyself

There is a recurring theme I am feeling in the air as of late. More and more people discussing importance of self-love. What does it mean? Why is it important?

We often love our neighbor as ourselves, but what about when we are worn in need of love? What about loving oneself as we do our neighbors?

Take some time out of the day. Maybe 20 min. at the start of the day? Multiple trips outside, to break up the day? Long walk in nature? Nice bubble-bath by candlelight? Or what about daily words of encouragement?

This is me talking to myself in the morning:

Good morning dear friend. I greet the morning sun and chirping birds. Thank you for all you do for me. I know you are tired, stiff and wow, where did that pain come from, but today is a new day and I look forward to kissing Earth with gentle kisses of Peace and Love.

Be aware, there may be speed bumps throughout our day. If we trip or get caught in a speed trap, pause for a moment, returning back to this moment in time. Know that I love you and we are Loved.

Throughout our day look for things to be grateful for. If there is a person with squirrel energy or a bull in a china shop, look for qualities that allow them shine.

Seriously…read this, ponder it and Love Thyself!

Tired, Tattered, Seafaring Man

What of the tired,

Tattered,

Seafaring Man?

Steady as she goes,

No port on horizon.

Sing to the seas,

Sing to birds.

Time passing by.

What of the tired,

Tattered,

Seafaring man?

Surrounded,

By thousand generations.

Brother sets,

Follow Sisters stream across the water.

What of the tired,

Tattered,

Seafaring man?

Steady as she goes,

No port on horizon.

Sing to the seas,

Sing to birds.

Time passing by.
