Pride

Pride

holding centuries of pain and misery

There you were
standing holding on
onto the pain
past, present participle
Oh, the pain so bitter
sweet niblets, testimony, cacophony
hard to swallow, worldly bytes, transfiguring thought tranquility
Oh, the pain, hard to swallow
swallow
swallow
prideful dreams, crossing realities
spreading those peacock feathers
blinded by self-inflicting misery
Eardrums closed off, pounding fears
centuries of rhythmic beats
unable to hear nature’s flowing melody
closed-off, worldly, bites me in the ass.

~ Ani Po

This came to me while observing someone close, unable to hear any other person around them. Closed off to new ideas, stuck on being heard, holding onto painful grudges and prideful thoughts. Nothing I could say to bring them peace within their days. My hopes in sharing it here, bringing peace via another form for those choosing to read.

Much gratitude for those who take time to read, ponder and allow the inner workings of self to come forward. Grateful for the feedback, love shared and more importantly the Dance with Inspiration. Deep Peace.
